The Lion & Lamb was originally a farmhouse built in 1718, using some of the stones from Hadrian's Wall and was converted into a Coaching Inn in 1744.
Over the past 250 years successive landlords have built upon it's reputation for fine food and ales, a reputation that we are keen to uphold. We are well known for our food, our real ales and of course our occasional special events.
